Selina Costabile
Selina’s love of dance started at 2 years old. By 10 years old, she began her training with Anne Gugliuzza at Batavia Academy of Dance where she studied ballet, jazz, contemporary/modern/lyrical, tap, hip hop, and ballroom.
Selina participated in the Teachers’ Assistant Work Study Program at Batavia Academy of Dance and performed with the Batavia Academy of Dance Competition Team. Through Anne’s mentorship she auditioned and was accepted at the Chicago Academy for the Arts where she has had the honor of training with Randy Duncan, award winning choreographer and director of the dance department, Natalie Rast, Patrick Simoniello, Deborah Goodman, and honorary dance coach, Harriet Ross.
Selina was accepted into the Chicago Academy for the Arts’ repertoire group her sophomore year. She has danced under choreographers Jonathan Alsberry, a renowned dancer and choreographer who has choreographed for The Julliard School, and Harvard University, among others, and Brian Brooks, a recipient of a 2013 Guggenheim Fellowship and inaugural Choreographer in Residence at the Harris Theater.
In the summer of 2017, she trained with the Fort Wayne Ballet. Selina most recently choreographed a piece which was showcased at the 21st Annual Aids Benefit at The Chicago Academy for the Arts. Selina has also modeled for the United Dance Merchants of America Show, Anonymous Addictions Clothing Line and Revolution Dancewear.
Selina loves being a part of the Batavia Academy of Dance Family and looks forward to sharing her passion for dance with others.
